Working groups of the international network Another Roadmap for Arts Education since 2016 have collaborated in the research project intertwining hi/stories, supported by Stiftung Mercator Schweiz, on local histories of learning in/through the arts and their global entanglements. Researchers, educators and cultural producers in Hong Kong, Berlin, Vienna, Maseru, Quito, Cuernavaca, Bogotá, Johannesburg, Lubumbashi, Nyanza, Cairo, Geneva and Zurich have conducted research on case studies of art education histories. In June 2018 the Symposium intertwining hi/stories of arts education, organized by the Institute for Art Education at Zurich University of the Arts, took place at Shedhalle Zurich. The symposium focused on histories – in plural – of education in/through the arts. Researchers collaborating in the homonymous project as well as from ZhdK gave insights into their case studies of global/local entanglements in the histories of arts education.

In January 2018 two clusters: intertwining hi/stories and the Africa Cluster met in Maseru, Lesotho. The main purpose for the intertwining hi/stories to meet, was to work on the educational tools of the cluster: the Learning Units and the Un/Chrono/Logical Timeline.
