Emma speaks during the final AR International meeting in Huye Rwanda, August 2018.

On 2 January 2023, we bid farewell to Emma, the founder of ARAC and core of all our activities. Everyone who ever crossed with Emma can bare testimony to her brilliance, fore-sight, care and depth of knowledge. We have collectively agreed to carry on as ARAC without our anchor, trusting in her vision, the individual and communal conversations we had with her, and the bond that we have formed as a family. Losing Emma in the physical realm devastated all of us, and filled us with the compulsion to carry ARAC forward to the best of our ability. This inevitably came with transition, members shifting and some joining for the first time. We have put together the table below to give a sense of our present and past members, along with their research interests.
