Our Common Ghosts: the Nyanza and Kampala Working Groups Meet at the Venice Biennale (May 2017)

“OUR COMMON GHOSTS consists of a week-long live audio-visual working session, held in a reconstruction of Aleksandr Rodchenko’s Workers’ Club, and a Print Room conceived by me. This work week centres on contributions by philosopher Isaïe Nzeyimana and artist and researcher Emma Wolukau-Wanambwa, alongisde visitors, students, musicians and Venice-based working groups.

OUR COMMON GHOSTS developed out of research undertaken by working groups at Another Roadmap School into the histories of art education. The idea was invoked at the inaugural meeting of Another Roadmap School Africa Cluster at Nagenda International Academy of Art & Design, convened by Wolukau-Wanambwa in Kampala, Uganda, in July 2015.
