From the airport to the hotel

TAXI

Taxis from the airport are carried by a private company called Guarucoop. They take you to your address for a closed price, informed before you get the taxi, that might be around R$ 150.

AIRPORT BUS SERVICE

There is another way that might be more affordable, to arrive to your hotel from the airport, is taking a private bus, called Airport Bus Service. They take credit cards and they have a bus every half an hour. Price: R$ 45,50

If you decide to come this way, you should get your ticket to Av. Paulista, it stops in several hotels along the avenue. The closest to your hotel is the last stop, Maksoud Plaza (Maksoud Plaza - Rua São Carlos Do Pinhal, 424). From there you can walk to your hotel (if you don't carry much luggage), Quality Jardins, which is two and a half blocks away (Alameda Campinas, 540)

UBER

There is UBER in Sao Paulo, you need to register and need a smartphone to be able to use it. Comment from the production team: "uber works really well here and it's is cheaper than taxi. However, sometimes the drivers don't know how to get into Bienal, since it's inside Ibirapuera park".

So this is another option, taking into account that it might not be the best one to go directly to the biennial pavillion.

Meeting at the Airport

You could have a look at the arival times of all other colleagues to see if someone arrives at about the same time, to meet up at the airport and travel to the hotel together. Here is the list of all arrival dates and times.

At the airport, the production team supposes you will all arrive in terminal 3 where most international flights arrive. You can check the list on this link: http://www.gru.com.br/terminais/#en. At the arrival area, after the passport control, there are some coffee spots and restaurants - "Casa do Pão de Queijo" is like a Starbucks and is open 24h.  This might be a good meeting place. You can check others here: http://www.gru.com.br/en-us/Airport-Guide/Food

Hotel - check in

If you arrive at the hotel in the morning before the check in time, you can store your baggage there. For Kitto, Lerato, Ra and Puleng, who arrive already in the middle of the night, the hotel is booked already for that same night, so you can directly check in when you arrive.

Money

Regarding exchange to Brazilian Real: You might exchange some money at the airport if you feel necessary to have some pocket money. But please consider that the rates are the airport are higher. You can find several exchange places around Avenida Paulista with better rates. Please also consider that you can use your international credit card almost everywhere.
